Althea Cunningham has a Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree from Grant MacEwan University and has established a career as a; musician, actor, writer and producer since 1999. Life experience conjure's up vivid memories. Love, humanity and social issues are inspiration for creation.

This emerging Canadian talent distinguishes herself as a writer with a unique ability to create material that is modern and sophisticated, yet accessible with the release of "On the Verge" (a five song EP) about the mysteries of love. As an eclectic music consumer this cd is soul inspired with a variety of musical styles. She currently works on a demo project which focuses on the soul and R& B sound. Her vocal and songwriting abilities demonstrate a maturity of her approach and validates her reputation as a key innovator of Neo- soul/pop music is the 21 st century. She combines her Jamaican descent with the a wide array of jazz/ soul influences and is dedicated to creating a fresh contemporary sound drawing from the classics. Being in demand as a; songwriter, educator and side-person for various projects has allowed her to nurture her career as a bandleader.

As well as an excellent tunesmith, Cunningham is multi- instrumentalist she has receives Nationwide exposure and worldwide airplay and rotation. She works tirelessly and has gained accolades from; prominent radio stations and other industry players such as: Soultracks.com, Black Soul Rhythms, Time Trippin, Bowl Of Soul, CBC, CKUA and countless others. She has toured extensively throughout Western Canada and also tours in the Eastern part of the country. By night she hangs upside down in trees and when the blood rushes to her head she crafts poignant songs about relationships and social issues.
